Here the introverted and almost mute nose reflects only wisps of spice on the ripe but discreet dark berry fruit and plum aromas. By contrast there is good richness and punch to the velvet-textured medium-bodied flavors that display good size and weight before terminating in a dusty and firm finish of more than admirable length. Like many of the wines in the range, the tannins are incredibly fine and while a classic Suchots is virtually never rustic this is an unusually refined example.
