This wine is deep-purple in colour. Subtle and seductive aromas of red berries on the nose open up on the palate with finesse, balance and a beautiful freshness. It has a gorgeously round mouthfeel with soft, velvety tannins.

Maison Les Alexandrins is the newly renamed collaboration between Nicolas Jaboulet, formerly of the eponymous winery in Tain, winemaker Guillaume Sorrel and viticulturalist Alexandre Caso. Each person brings their expertise to this micro-négociant, an extension of Domaine Les Alexandrins, established in 2015. The aim of Maison Les Alexandrins remains the same: to buy parcels of fruit from some of the top growers in each appellation in the Northern Rhône. Following the construction of a new winery in Tain-l’Hermitage in 2019, Maison and Domaine Les Alexandrins is now a permanent fixture in the Northern Rhône.

The soil in Saint Joseph is mainly composed of granite. The vineyards span 60km along the right bank of the Rhône river. The Syrah is sourced from both the north of the appellation, which brings finesse and delicate fruit flavours, and from the historical centre of Saint Joseph, where the fruit gives more flesh and body to the wine

The grapes were cold-macerated for three days in order to extract delicate fruit aromas. The grapes were then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 20 days, with pumping over for the first two days, followed by punching down. The wine was then aged in one and two-year-old barrels for 12 months before bottling.
