2022 Burgundy Vintage

The 2022 Burgundy vintage emerges as a triumphant return to the "new normal" after the challenges posed by the cold and low-yielding 2021. Abundant warmth and sunshine defined the growing season, with timely rainfall in June and August mitigating potential heat effects. Early assessments highlight wines with heightened body, richness, and concentration compared to their predecessors, yet retaining essential freshness and equilibrium. Amidst the backdrop of climate-change-influenced vintages, 2022 stands out as the most successful. Harvest commencing in August, and for many domaines, concluding before September, reflects the adaptability of vignerons to the evolving conditions. Despite the early harvest, the wines maintain a Burgundian restraint, reminiscent of the great warm vintages of the 20th century.

Both red and white productions were healthy without excess, showcasing a balanced and generous vintage with excellent ageing potential. The reds reveal beautiful aromas, complexity, and power, while whites boast intense aromas, a luxurious texture, and remarkable freshness.
