The Confurons have been making wine in Burgundy for hundreds of years and famously even have a clone of Pinot Noir named after them. Yves Confuron is one of the greatest characters of the Cote d'Or and a visit to Confuron-Cotetidot always leaves an impression. He's deeply passionate and possessed of many a forthright opinion on winemaking. The wines produced here have barely changed stylistically since Yves took over from his father, Jacky. Deep, dark and structured in their youth, they reward the patient. I can't recommend them highly enough.
