A pretty and airy nose blends notes of green tea, forest floor, spice and sauvage with those of various red and dark berry aromas. The intense and muscular big-bodied flavors brim with minerality and sappy dry extract, both of which can also be found on the powerful, rustic and focused bitter cherry pit-inflected finish that is very clearly built-to-age. This is a very serious wine that at present isn't quite as well-balanced as the Charmes though it may better harmonize as the tannins begin to resolve.
