The dense purple-hued 2022 Château Croizet-Bages is another elegant, balanced, impressive Pauillac in the vintage. Giving up lots of cassis and darker currant-like fruits, it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and some classic Pauillac lead pencil, leather, and spicy wood nuances.
Château Croizet-Bages, Grand Cru Classé in 1855, owes its name to the Croizet brothers, emblematic dynasty of the Médoc, who created the estate in the 17th century in the heart of the famous hamlet of Bages in Pauillac. Château Croizet-Bages received special recognition at the 1878 and 1889 universal exhibitions, as symbolised by the gold medals on the label.

In 1942, Monsieur Paul Quié, already owner of another estate in Haut-Médoc, wine merchant and wine lover, clearly saw the potential of this classified growth. He then replanted the vineyard with enthusiasm and patience.

Today, Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe Quié, the third generation, carry on the development of the estate. They have launched the renovation of the cellars in order to build new performing technical installations to improve the quality of the wine. Château Croizet-Bages is a generous, opulent, expressive wine with a very powerful bouquet reminiscent of black fruit, spice, and cedar, accompanied on the palate by a fine tannic texture.
