A vinous Champagne with so much depth and soft power. Hazelnuts, apricots, peach pits, lemons, pomelos and seashells. Round, creamy bubbles. Complex, but with wonderful drinkability. Converges with precision at the end. Very deep. 80% pinot noir and 20% chardonnay. Blend of 2 solera systems of perpetual reserve, started in 1990. Drink or hold.
At Domaine Henri Giraud the Perpetual Reserve , the oldest in Champagne, has been
the family’s most carefully preserved heirloom for generations. It embodies the values
of the domaine and symbolises vitality, energy, and the source of rejuvenation.
Champagne Henri Giraud make outstanding Champagnes with a meticulous attention
to detail, their newest wine is no different. The first fermentation is carried out in oak
casks from the Argonne, where the especially tight grained oak plays a supportive,
rather than dominating, role in the wine. Minimal intervention in the vineyard and
careful selection results in wines that are complex, expressive and delicious. They
apply sustainable viticultural methods and are certified with high environmental value.
This perpetual reserve (PR) represents an active legacy for the Giraud family since the
beginning of the 1980s onwards and was definitively adopted in 1990.
